Xbox to Rethink Ties With Activision After Stories of Sexual Misconduct


Xbox Chief Phil Spencer is evaluating its relationship with Activision Blizzard, the Microsoft-owned gaming console maker confirmed on Thursday amid allegations of sexual misconduct and equal pay violations towards the video-game writer.

Bloomberg first reported the information on Thursday, citing an e mail despatched to staff.

Spencer advised the workers the Xbox gaming management crew was “disturbed and deeply troubled by the horrific occasions and actions” at Activision, the report famous.

“The management at Xbox and Microsoft stand by our groups and assist them in constructing a safer setting for all,” Spencer mentioned in an announcement.

A spokesperson for Activision mentioned the corporate was partaking with its companions.

Allegations towards the corporate, identified for video-game titles together with Name of Obligation and Diablo, have led to launch delays and exit of prime executives.

Earlier this week, staff staged a walkout following a report that the corporate’s chief government officer knew about allegations of sexual harassment and assault sooner than beforehand identified.
